Teach English in Thailand
Once you’ve completed the TEFL course in Phuket, you can easily find the right TEFL job in Thailand!
Getting a Teaching Job in Thailand
We do provide our trainees with the means to find English teaching jobs abroad. You should be aware that many countries require teachers to have both higher education (to degree or diploma level) and a TEFL/TESOL certificate, whilst some only require a TEFL certificate. Taking responsibility for finding your own employment demonstrates resourcefulness, and employers consider this a valuable trait when employing new teachers.
CHECK THE JOB BOARDS
Have a look through the Job Guidance Section on our website. There are many TEFL job boards advertising thousands of English teaching jobs throughout the world. These jobs are updated and added to daily. Choose a number of jobs that interest you, then email them your cover letter with CV attached, and scans of your photo and passport (make sure the file sizes are reasonable – nobody wants to get a 10Mb email!). If an employer is interested in your application you may be asked to forward further information or take a telephone interview. You will be most likely invited for face-to-face interview, then a job offer will be made at the end of the interview.
As a qualified EFL teacher with an internationally recognised TEFL/TESL certificate, you will have no problem finding a teaching EFL job in Thailand. There are possibilities all over the world, in almost every country you can think of. You can choose between teaching positions in private language schools, state schools, universities, businesses, hotels, kindergartens as well as private tutoring and voluntary work.
Different Types of Schools in Thailand
Schools in Thailand can be split into the following four types:
PUBLIC/STATE SCHOOLS: There are thousands of primary and secondary schools throughout Thailand, from small schools in rural villages to schools with more than 2,000 students in larger towns. These are the first place to start looking for work as they all employ foreigners to teach English. Pay is adequate, and terms and conditions are usually good.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS: Larger towns have private primary and secondary schools, many of which offer English programs. Pay is higher than in state schools, but days are longer and contact hours greater.
LANGUAGE SCHOOLS: There are language schools in all the larger towns. Some concentrate on the student market, teaching English to schoolchildren. Others teach business English and offer on-site corporate training. Pay is usually by the hour and no holiday pay is accrued. This means if you are not working, you are not earning.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS: There are several international schools in Thailand. These are extremely difficult schools for new TEFL graduates to get work in. Pay is much higher, but the required qualifications mean that most people won’t make the grade.
The accommodation at our Guesthouse or Apartments is for 29 nights total.
Check-in is from the Saturday prior to the course and check-out is the Sunday after course completion, so you’ll have plenty of time to get familiar with the area before your course starts on the Monday, and then a couple of days to recover from the graduation party at the end!
Of course, additional nights can be booked if required before or after the course.
Guesthouse: Price from April through October $345 USD
Guesthouse: Price from November through March $749 USD
Apartment: All Year $495 USD

The benefits of using this App is that you get to see different photos, read reviews of the place, a map to see the distance from the school, and you can talk to the owner directly.
